Cue Bidding ----------- A cue bid basically shows control of the suit is looking for a specific control in partner's hand. Here are the conditions for a cue bid: If 1) Both partners agree on the suit (or NT--- rare) 2) The bid cannot possibly be a raise of an old one. Then any bid that is not the agreed suit is a cue bid. 1) The first cue bid does not need to show a control (but usually does). 2) Other cue bids show first round control--- A or void, show Aces over voids 3) If you do not have a first round control, bid the lowest level of the agreed suit. 4) After either partner has bid the trump suit, further cue bids show second round control (K or singleton). Then after either partner has bid the trump suit again, further bids show 3rd round control and so on...
